Customer Review: this is a ridiculous product

this is the most ridiculously overpriced, shotty product i have ever had to purchase. i was forced to replace someone else's, when i broke the whistle by pulling out the stopper to pour water. the stooper broke into 4 pieces in my hand (no exaggeration) with no chance of fixing it. the teakettle was 2 months old. the handle also gets extremely hot, and the whistle only worked periodically before, leading to multiple times where the water all but boiled out and the paint, in fact, scorched and fell off parts of the outside (there are $20 teakettles from Ikea that are not damaged by all the water boiling out of them--i found this simply absurd). the justification for the $70 price is supposedly that it 'heats the water evenly'. i am no chemistry teacher, but i was under the impression that when a small body of water is boiling, the water is evenly heated. i have never been shy about spending fair amounts of money on higher-quality kitchen products. this, however, is a complete waste of anyone's money. i strongly discourage anyone from buying it.
